CAINE Alfie (British b.1996)
Alfie Caine has developed a highly distinct contemporary art style often described as architectural surrealism or psychedelic domesticity. His compositions almost always center on the relationship between domestic spaces and the natural world. He utilizes windows, doors left slightly ajar, and glass facades as portals. Viewers are invited into meticulously detailed, intimate rooms that look out onto expansive, stylized, and untamed landscapes, creating a conversation between structured shelter and the wild beyond. Because of his architectural background, his paintings display incredible draftsmanship, crisp lines, and strict linear perspective when rendering structures, floor tiles, and furniture. However, this rigid geometry is intentionally juxtaposed with surreal, soft-edged organic elements—such as whimsically distorted, spindly trees, perfectly still glass-like water, and winding ribbons of chimney smoke. He focuses heavily on the minutiae of daily life, this lack of an actual subject creates a sense of "living in waiting"—an eerie but comforting stillness where some mysterious or quiet event feels imminent.

BA Amanda (American/Chinese b.1998)
BA frequently depicts oversized, muscular, and monumental figures—predominantly female or non-binary—that dominate the canvas. Her figures are often nude, expressive, and rendered with an imposing physical presence. This stylistic choice directly challenges traditional Western, male-gaze conventions of portraiture that historically historicized or passive-ized marginalized bodies. She often utilizes intense, saturated, and sometimes unnatural flesh tones to elevate her figures into mythic or symbolic realms. As a Chinese-American artist, she uses her practice to explore cultural hybridity. Her works weave together Eastern and Western motifs, subverting classical art history tropes while embedding personal and collective memory. Some of her works show a deliberate confrontation with racialized and gendered fetishes, reclaiming power through highly assertive, queer visual narratives. Her visual language is heavily informed by queer theory and post-colonial theory. Rather than just painting figures, she uses the distortion of scale and intense narrative staging to explore themes of desire, visibility, and reclaiming space for marginalized bodies.

CARINO J. (American b. 1988)
J. Carino (b. 1988) art is known for his fantastical, queer-centric paintings that intertwine monumental nude figures with idyllic yet dangerous landscapes. His art merges personal narratives, queer intimacy, and environmental anxiety, often referencing modernism and decorative textiles, creating a "peaceful transgression" that challenges heterosexual definitions of nature.

KWON Neung (South Korean b. 1990)
KWON Neung paintings blend art history, pop culture, and everyday reality into singular, crowded, and often surreal canvases characterized by a "coexistence" of different eras and realities.
As Baudelaire argued that art should capture the "transient, the fleeting, and the contingent" of modern life rather than just the "eternal," Neung focuses on the extraordinary within the ordinary. He uses his paintings to explore the relationship between the weight of art history and the lightness of contemporary existence.
His figures are not rigid symbols, they are defined by their actions within the painting. This explores the tension between existence and nihility, suggesting that in our modern, fluid world, the boundary between what is real (our daily lives) and what is imaginary (art history) is increasingly blurred.

ZAYA (Mongolian b. 1975)
Zayasaikhan Sambuu known as "Zaya," art style is a unique "bridge between the old and the new," blending traditional Central Asian heritage with contemporary techniques. His style is close to Magic Realism / Contemporary Folk fusing traditional Mongolian painting (detailed, flat perspectives) with Japanese art techniques and modern realism.
He often uses a unique mix of watercolors, gouache, brush, and oil on canvas.
The subjects are often Noble Women. His most iconic works feature majestic Mongolian queens and princesses in elaborate traditional costumes and hairstyles.
He also frequently depicts nomadic life, Tibetan Buddhist themes and female figures accompanied by wild animals like snow leopards and wolves, symbolizing a connection to spirituality and nature.

Fernando CIDONCHA (Spanish b. 1991)
Cidoncha’s work is primarily figurative and representational. He views the human body not just as a physical subject, but as a "pathway to spiritual awakening." His subjects appear like in a poem often in states of "quietude," exploring the "yearning of the human heart" and the "desire for the beyond."
His technique is influenced by Renaissance masters, however he translates these classical methods into a contemporary context with Idealization and Atmospheric Stillness. His figures often transcend specific genders or eras, embodying a universal ideal and subjects in moments of deep contemplation, reading...
His portfolio is a dialogue between the internal and external worlds with themes including:
Intimacy and Connection: Often depicted through "conversations" or quiet proximity.
Solitude and Reverie: Many works focus on a single figure lost in thought or a book.
The Mystical in the Mundane: He finds inspiration in daily life, but renders it with a weight and significance that suggests a deeper, almost sacred reality.
In a world of fast consumption, speed, instantaneity and violence, I love the approach of Cidoncha's art that bring to us poetic moments of grace, stillness and balm for our hearts and souls.
